My recovery has been a bit difficult yet successful. My journey has instilled in me a strong desire to help others who have been stricken with a brain tumor. I am particularly interested in helping children who may not be as fortunate as I've been; those who may be required to have more lengthy and involved treatment as well as those who may not have had the resources available as I did.
Due to the fact that many children and their families are forced to go through this ordeal with very limited or no financial or emotional support I have decided to join the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children. The BTFC is located in Georgia, and has been making a difference since 1983. I have officially started a South Florida chapter here in Miami called Christina's Kidz. This chapter of the BTFC is focused on "helping children with brain tumors and their families."
The money that has already been raised by Christina's Kidz due to the generous donations given by friends and family, is already being distributed to families in need of financial support while caring for their children. We have started to take it to the next level; and are in the process of creating scholarship funds for college bound brain tumor survivors, and research funds to hopefully find a cure for brain tumors in the future. To attain this lofty goal we need as much of your help as possible.
